Man arrested in Calumet Township crash

HOUGHTON, MI--    A 27-year-old Houghton man has been arrested in connection with a reckless driving incident in the Copper Country on May 21.

The driver is accused of leading police on a high-speed chase on M-26 and US-41 before he crashed his car into a pickup truck in Calumet Township.

State Police from the Calumet Post say the subject was able to post bond and was released from the Houghton County Jail.  He’s set to be arraigned June 19.

The man’s name is being withheld, pending arraignment.  

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
