Man arrested on explosives charges in Marquette

MARQUETTE, MI--   A former Marquette man is lodged in the county jail on explosives charges.

Marquette Police arrested Christian Nutini, 28, for placing explosives near property, causing property damage and placing an explosive in or near a vulnerable target.

The charges stem from an investigation last November 10 into a report of damage to the city lift station on the corner of Hawley Street and Lakeshore Boulevard.

Both counts are punishable by up to 20 years in prison each.

Nutini remains jailed on a $100,000 bond.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
