Woman arrested after crashing car

SAGOLA TOWNSHIP, MI--   A female driver has been arrested following a rollover crash in Dickinson

County.  State Police from the Iron Mountain Post responded to the accident on M-69 just east of North Dickinson School around 2:45 a.m. Thursday.  They say the Chevy Impala left the roadway and rolled onto its roof.  Witnesses say the female driver—who smelled like intoxicants—was driven away from the scene by someone in a pickup truck.

Investigation led troopers to a camp on Calumet Mine Road, where the suspect was found.  She was arrested for operating while intoxicated, and leaving the scene of a crash and lodged in the Dickinson County Jail.

Her name has not yet been released.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
