Three dead following Marquette Township domestic incident

MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP--   Three people are dead, following an early-morning domestic incident in Marquette Township.

State Police from the Negaunee Post say Central Dispatch received a 911 call around 5:00 Thanksgiving morning about a domestic situation on Moran Street, just west of Ontario, in Trowbridge Park.

When troopers didn’t hear from anyone inside the house they used a remote-controlled robot to search it.  A police team then entered the house and found three people—two men and one woman—dead in different areas.

Officials say there’s no threat to public safety as all persons related to the incident have been accounted for.

The investigation is ongoing and additional information will be released at a later time.

Troopers from the Negaunee Post were assisted at the scene by personnel from the Michigan State Police Crime Labs in Marquette and Grayling, Marquette County Sheriff’s Office, Marquette City Police Department, Northern Michigan University Public Safety Department, Keweenaw Bay Indian Community Tribal Police Department, the Marquette Township Fire Department, and the Upper Peninsula Health System EMS.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
