Marquette residents arrested for felonious assault

MARQUETTE, MI--   Two people have been arrested in connection with assaults in Marquette Monday.

City Police responded to the parking lot of 918 West Washington Street on a complaint of but found no one there.  A short while later police located the suspects and victims involved.

Investigation revealed the victims had been assaulted by a pool cue and a makeshift bat.  Both were treated for their injuries at UPHS Marquette and released. 

Officers arrested Marquette residents Kowayne Terrelle Burns, 38, and Ebonie Latrice Burns, 26.  Kowayne Burns faces one count of felonious assault, while Ebonie Burns faces two counts of felonious assault. 

Both remain lodged at the Marquette County Jail, pending arraignment.  

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
