High-speed chase results in meth arrests

MARQUETTE, MI--   Three suspects were arrested on drug and other charges Saturday, following a high-speed chase in Marquette County.

Marquette Police initiated the pursuit around 2 a.m. from the area of McClellan Avenue and the US-41 bypass.  The chase ended on M-553 and M-94 with the assistance of Michigan State Police. 

Once officers made contact with the suspects they discovered an active meth cook inside the vehicle.

Driver Jack Pelto, 20, was arrested for fleeing and eluding, maintaining a meth lab, and driving on a revoked license.

Nathan Knotek, 31, was arrested for maintaining a meth lab.

Bobbie Joe Weymouth, 21, was arrested for maintaining a meth lab and on an outstanding warrant from the Marquette Police Department for armed robbery

City Police were assisted Michigan State Police, the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office, Chocolay Township Police, Forsyth Township Police, and the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team.   

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
