Former Marquette Maritime Museum director arraigned for embezzlement

Marquette, MI - The former director of the Marquette Maritime Museum and the McClintock Recognition Project has been arraigned on embezzlement charges.

Thirty-seven year old Carrie Sue Fries of Marquette was arrested on two counts of Embezzlement - $1000 or more but less than $20,000 from a non-profit or charitable organization and three counts of forgery. Bond was set at 10% of $30,000.

The charges stem from a complaint made to Marquette City Police department in February. Fries was arraigned on the charges on Thursday.

Hans Ahlström is the host of several programs including the daily musical variety show Weekday, the mostly straight ahead jazz show Night Studio, the self explanatory Blues Today, and the eclectic Sound Spectrum. You can also hear Hans as the local host of NPR's All Things Considered news magazine. He also helps manage Public Radio 90's web content, interviews local and visiting writers and artists, works with NMU student interns, and writes the occasional news story.
