Man arrested for breaking into Escanaba vehicles

ESCANABA, MI--   A 25-year-old man has been arrested for breaking into several vehicles in Escanaba and stealing property.  

Public Safety officers responded Saturday around 4:00 a.m. to a report of a home invasion in the 1400 block of North 20th Street.  A short time later they were called to investigate a male subject rummaging through a vehicle and arrested a 25-year-old suspect. 

Investigation revealed there were multiple vehicles in the area that had been entered and items had been taken.

The suspect is charged with two counts of larceny from a motor vehicle and one count of malicious destruction of property.  Police say more charges will follow.

The man remains lodged in the Delta County Jail on a $10,000 bond.

The Delta County Sheriff’s Department and Delta County Central Dispatch assisted in the incident.
