Creepy clown sightings in Munising

AZcentral.com

MUNISING, MI--   Munising residents should report any sightings they have of creepy clowns in the area.

That’s according to City Police Chief John Nelson, who has received several complaints over the past week of people being frightened by clown sightings.

Nelson says it’s a hot topic both nationally and locally.  He advises everyone to call 911 if they or their children have a suspicious encounter with a clown.  He says don’t attempt to confront the individual or share the incident on social media.

Nelson says the sightings that have been investigated so far don’t indicate that anyone is in danger.  He says every reported clown sighting will be investigated, and if there’s enough evidence the suspect could be charged with disorderly conduct or assault.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
