Marquette Police find stolen gun, taser during traffic stop

MARQUETTE, MI--   Two people were arrested for weapons violations by Marquette City Police early Tuesday morning.  

At 12:45 a.m. officers conducted a traffic stop on Presque Isle Avenue near West College Avenue. A subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered a stolen pistol and taser device. 

The juvenile driver was taken into custody for possession of a stolen firearm and for carrying a concealed weapon. 

A passenger, Collin Havican, 18, of Marquette, was arrested for being in possession of a taser device.  He was lodged in the Marquette County Jail.

The driver was placed in juvenile detention, pending charges.  

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
