Man arrested for trying to stab Marquette resident

MARQUETTE, MI--   A Marquette man has been arrested in connection with an attempted stabbing incident last August.

City Police say early on the morning of August 21 someone entered a home on the 100 block of Morgan Street and tried to stab the victim as he was sleeping. The victim was able to repel the attack and the suspect fled.

Only minor injuries were reported.

Investigation led to the arrest Thursday of Cory Carter, 26, of Marquette.  He’s charged with first-degree home invasion and felonious assault.

Carter remains lodged in the Marquette County Jail on a $50,0000 bond.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
