Attempted abduction reported in Mackinac County

ENGADINE, MI--   The Mackinac County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an attempted abduction in Engadine. 

Deputies were called to a home Monday afternoon when a 12-year-old boy said he was approached by a 45- to 60-year-old man in a dark SUV. The man asked if the boy could help him find his lost dog and encouraged the boy to get into the vehicle.  The child ran home and told his mother, who called police. 

The suspect is described as a white male with black and gray hair and a scar on his face. The vehicle is described as a black or dark gray 1997 to 2003 Dodge Durango with running boards.
