Three downstate suspects arrested by Tri-Dent for selling cocaine

SAULT STE. MARIE, MI--   The Tri-County Drug Enforcement Taskforce has arrested three Grand Rapids residents for selling cocaine in the Eastern U.P.

Last Friday Tri-Dent detectives made a controlled purchase from Montel Burch, 21, and Enrico Hernandez, 20. A subsequent search warrant was executed at a motel room in Sault Ste. Marie. Officers seized a large amount of cocaine, marijuana, drug packaging material, money, and a scale.

Hernandez is charged with delivery of cocaine, conspiracy to deliver cocaine, maintaining a drug house, and possession with intent to deliver cocaine.

Burch, a habitual offender, is charged with delivery of cocaine and maintaining a drug house. He also faces federal charges of possession with intent to deliver cocaine and possession of marijuana.

Desiree Castle, 22, also a habitual offender, is charged with delivery of cocaine, possession with intent to deliver cocaine, conspiracy to deliver cocaine, and maintaining a drug house. Ecstasy and LSD charges are pending.

Tri-Dent was assisted by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Department and Sault Tribal Police.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
