Escaped Gogebic County inmate to be charged in incident

BESSEMER, MI--   A man who escaped from the Gogebic County Jail last week faces additional charges.

Daniel Ferguson, 26, was reported missing last Monday night. He was lodged on a charge of operating while impaired and felony probation violation warrants out of Wisconsin.

Several police agencies and K-9 teams searched for Ferguson for days. Officers received a tip and found Ferguson Friday around 2 p.m. hiding in a residence in the city of Bessemer. He was taken into custody without incident.

Deputies say additional charges will be sought as investigation into the incident continues.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
