Suspect in horse killing also charged with attempted murder

CRYSTAL FALLS, MI--   A Crystal Falls man already accused of killing a horse has now been charged with attempted murder.

Luke Wool, 18, is also charged with felony firearms, discharging a firearm in or at a building, and two counts of killing/torturing an animal.

The Iron County Sheriff’s Office was called to a Crystal Falls Township residence March 16 on a report that a horse had been shot and injured.  A couple of bullets also penetrated a house near the horse barn.

Deputies say the incident was connected to the death of a horse on February 24.

Wool is currently undergoing a competency exam.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
