Negaunee man jailed on possession of child pornography charges

MARQUETTE, MI--    A Negaunee man has been arrested for possessing child pornography.

Stan Henry Wright, 58, was taken into custody Tuesday and arraigned Wednesday on eight counts of possession of child sexually abusive material.

The Michigan State Police Computer Crimes Unit, Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force conducted an investigation into Wright’s online activity. A former employee of WNMU-FM, Wright is accused of using a work computer to download and view child pornography. Police say evidence was located on the computer.

Wright remains lodged in the Marquette County Jail on a $400,000 bond.

State Police say Northern Michigan University officials fully cooperated with the investigation, and there’s nothing to suggest any students were victimized.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
