Men busted for drugs in Marquette following slow chase

MARQUETTE, MI--   Three men were arrested on drug charges following a low-speed chase in Marquette Friday morning.

Around 12:27 a.m. City Police tried to stop a vehicle near the intersection of US-41 and McClellan Avenue for a registration violation. The vehicle initially stopped, then drove off. A pursuit began on West Baraga Avenue at speeds under 25 miles per hour.

The chase ended when Chocolay Police and Marquette County Sheriff’s deputies cut off the suspect vehicle on the 600 block of West Baraga.

The driver of the vehicle—Drew Laskowski Wright, 33, of Marquette—was arrested for fourth degree fleeing and eluding, second-degree driving while license suspended, and possession of cocaine with intent to deliver.

his passengers—Ranson Woods, 21, and Melchizedek Woods, 21, both of Milwaukee—were arrested for possession of cocaine.

Charges are pending further review by the Marquette County Prosecutor’s Office.
