MARQUETTE, MI--   A Little Lake man is jailed, following a complaint of child abuse.

On Monday officers from the Marquette Police Department arrested Ryan Whitcomb, 26. He’s charged with 2nd-degree child abuse—which is causing serious physical harm to a child—3rd-degree child abuse, and assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, or by strangulation.

The charges are punishable by up to 22 years in prison.

Whitcomb remains lodged in the Marquette County Jail on a $60,000 bond.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
