Woman arrested in Marquette for drugs, resisting officers

MARQUETTE, MI--   A Marquette woman is facing drug charges following her arrest on New Year’s Eve.

City Police conducted a traffic stop on Stephanie Ray, 34, on Grove Street near South McClellan Avenue Sunday. Officers say they discovered suspected cocaine and marijuana during the stop, and Ray resisted arrest.

Ray is charged with possession of cocaine, tampering with evidence, resisting and obstructing, and possession of marijuana. She remains lodged at the Marquette County Jail. Bond is set at $3,250.

A probable cause conference is set for January 17. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
