Numerous people arrested in Chippewa County as part of drug sweep

CHIPPEWA COUNTY, MI--   The TRI-County Drug Enforcement Task Force made 14 drug-related arrests in Chippewa County this week.

Officers and departments working with TRI-DENT conducted a warrant sweep Monday through Wednesday. They say the arrests are the result of lengthy investigations into the drug and opioid epidemic affecting the area.

The suspects—ranging from 20 to 66 years old—have all been arraigned in Chippewa County District Court. Charges include delivery/manufacture of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance on school or library property, and maintaining a drug house.

Anyone with information regarding the sale of narcotics is asked to notify the task force.
