Traffic stop turns into drug arrest

BARK RIVER TOWNSHIP, MI--   A Delta County traffic stop resulted in the arrest of one person Friday. 

Around 9:30 p.m. Sheriff’s deputies stopped a vehicle on US-2/41 in Bark River Township. During the stop they and a K-9 located a large amount of meth. Deputies also seized cash, marijuana, and prescription pills.

A 27-year-old man was arrested and lodged at the Delta County Jail. His name has not yet been released, pending arraignment.

Hannahville Tribal Police assisted at the scene.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
