Marquette County woman jailed for trying to mail drugs

SKANDIA, MI--   A Skandia woman has been arrested on a drug-related charge. 

The Marquette City Police Department says Paula Heidtman, 38, was taken into custody Wednesday on a one-count felony warrant for delivery/manufacture of a controlled substance—Schedules 1, 2, and 3 drugs. Heidtman allegedly tried to send prescription drugs through the U.S. Postal Service to a subject in another state.

She remains lodged in the Marquette County Jail on 10 percent of a $10,000 bond.

The charge is punishable by up to seven years in prison.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
