Stabbed Dickinson County man arrested for domestic violence

NORWAY TOWNSHIP, MI--   Police say a Dickinson County man was stabbed in an argument over a set of keys last Friday.

State Police from the Iron Mountain Post were dispatched to a residence just before 2 p.m., but a male subject had fled the scene before their arrival. A K-9 unit assisted in searching the area and found the man hiding under the stairs of the Norway Township Hall. He was taken to Dickinson County Hospital.

Investigation revealed a domestic assault had occurred earlier in the day between the man and his wife. The subject left the residence for a few hours, and after his return an altercation over a set of keys occurred between himself and his juvenile son. The man was stabbed several times.

After his release from the hospital the man was arrested for domestic assault.

The son was taken into custody on a juvenile petition and lodged at the Sault Tribe Detention Facility in St. Ignace.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
