Suspects arrested in Marquette vehicle B&E case

MARQUETTE, MI--   Two Marquette residents have been arrested for breaking into vehicles on Blemhuber Avenue and taking items.

City Police were dispatched Sunday around 3:45 a.m. to the 400 block. They encountered William Overmyer and Jordan Benz, both 17 years old. Officers say they were found in possession of numerous stolen items, some of which came from vehicles in the area.

Overmyer was arrested for breaking and entering of a motor vehicle to steal property under $200, larceny from a motor vehicle, carrying a concealed weapon, and possession of a taser.

Benz was arrested for breaking and entering of a motor vehicle to steal property under $200.

The Marquette Police Department has numerous items believed to be stolen from the area. Anyone missing property is asked to call police at 228-0400.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
