Ishpeming Police arrest woman for spending fake money

ISHPEMING, MI--    An Ishpeming woman has been arrested for passing counterfeit cash.

City Police say an investigation began when an employee at the Oasis gas station reported a fake $100 bill had been passed by Devin Spencer, 39, on January 4.

Spencer was arrested Friday for counterfeiting – coins/possession of less than 5.

She faces up to 10 years in prison and a $5,000 fine.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
