Watersmeet, MI - State Police in the western UP have arrested a suspect in in a downstate homicide. Detectives from the Ottawa County Sherriff’s Department had information the suspect, 18-year-old Juan Sandro Cabrera, was in the Upper Peninsula, at a home in Watersmeet, and contacted the MSP for assistance with his arrest. Detectives from Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team executed a warrant at the home along with the MSP Emergency Support Team. Cabrera was arrested without incident yesterday (Tuesday) at approximately 5:30 a.m. He was transported to Ottawa County where he was arraigned on open murder, felony firearms possession and gang membership charges.
