MSP nabs Ishpeming resident for possession of child sexually abusive material

ISHPEMING, MI--   An Ishpeming man has been arrested for downloading child pornography.

The Michigan State Police Computer Crimes Unit, Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force says Rodney Wallberg, 66, was arrested March 21. He’s charged with five counts of child sexually abusive activity and five counts of using a computer to commit a crime.

Investigation revealed Wallberg had been downloading child pornography at his residence. He faces up to life in prison and a $600,000 fine.

ICAC worked closely with troopers from the MSP Negaunee Post and the Ishpeming Township Police Department.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
