Meth arrest made in Manistique

MANISTIQUE, MI--   A Schoolcraft County man is jailed after police found meth and a concealed weapon in his vehicle. 

WLUC-TV reports Manistique Public Safety officers stopped Martin Harju, 19, on North Houghton Avenue in the early morning hours of August 29. A Public Safety K-9 indicated there were drugs in the vehicle. A search uncovered methamphetamine and brass knuckles

Harju was arrested and lodged in the Schoolcraft County Jail. He’s charged with delivery/manufacture of meth and weapons – concealed carry.

Harju’s bond is set at $10,000 cash or surety. A probable cause conference is set for September 11 and a preliminary exam is scheduled for September 18.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
