MSP investigating break-in, theft, from Eastern UP home

PENTLAND TOWNSHIP, MI--   Michigan State Police from the Sault Ste. Marie Post are investigating the break-in of a seasonal residence near Newberry. 

Troopers say sometime between February 9 and February 21 of this year someone forced their way into a residence on M-28 in Pentland Township. A World War II-era Japanese rifle with attached scope was taken from the home.

Anyone with information regarding the breaking and entering or the stolen rifle is asked to call Trooper Robbins of the MSP Sault Ste. Marie Post at 906-632-2217.

Anonymous tips can also be left on the Crime Stoppers line, at 855-906-8477. Tips that lead to an arrest may qualify for a monetary award.
