Calumet troopers investigate stabbing in the village

CALUMET, MI--    A man is in custody for stabbing a woman in Calumet.

Michigan State Police from the Calumet Post were dispatched to the scene Monday around 6 p.m. A 36-year-old woman reported she’d been stabbed by an unknown assailant.

The victim was taken to Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Troopers investigated the incident further and developed a suspect. They arrested a 41-year-old man for aggravated felonious assault. The suspect was apparently in a domestic relationship with the victim.

No names will be released pending his arraignment.
