Man and woman charged in South Range home invasion

HOUGHTON, MI--   Two people were arrested for home invasion in South Range early Saturday morning. 

The Houghton County Sheriff’s Office says a male suspect pulled a knife on someone inside the home and the victim defended himself with a chainsaw. The suspects then fled the residence.

Deputies conducted an extensive search and located the suspects at another South Range house.

A 40-year-old South Range woman is charged with home invasion. A 32-year-old man from Warren is charged with home invasion and felonious assault. Both remain lodged in the Houghton County Jail.

No injuries were reported.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
