Newberry home invasion under investigation

NEWBERRY, MI--   Michigan State Police from the Sault Ste. Marie Post are asking the public for help in identifying suspects in a Newberry home invasion case. 

On March 24 the owners of a house on Maplewood Road returned home to find someone had broken into the residence. The suspects attempted to steal five long guns and two bows.

A neighbor told police he had surprised the suspects and they fled the area on snowmobiles, leaving the rifles and bows behind.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call State Police at 906-632-2217. Anonymous tips can be entered on the MSP mobile app under “submit a tip” or reported to Crime Stoppers at 855-906-8477.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
