Woman arrested for wounding another with knife

MENOMINEE, MI--   The Menominee Police Department is investigating a stabbing in the city on Tuesday.

Around 7:15 p.m. officers were dispatched to the Menominee Lighthouse Pier on a report of a person with a knife wound. The victim—an 18-year-old woman—was taken to the Aurora Medical Center-Bay Area in Marinette for treatment. The injury was non-life-threatening.

A 33-year-old woman was arrested for aggravated felonious assault and lodged in the Menominee County Jail.

Officials say further information may be released in the future.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
