Ishpeming Police investigate 'suspicious' death

ISHPEMING, MI--   The body of a missing Ishpeming woman has been found in Lake Angeline.

City Police located the body of Lacie Borchert Friday around 8 p.m. under the ice about six feet from shore.

Borchert was last seen at her residence around 3 a.m. Friday. Her vehicle was found in a ditch off Excelsior Street at about 5:45 p.m. Officers started searching for Borchert and located her under the lake ice.

The body was taken to UPHS-Marquette and an autopsy is being performed.

Anyone who had recent contact with Lacie Borchert is asked to call the Ishpeming Police Department at 486-4416.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
