Man who drove Mighty Mac at 72 mph arrested on meth charges

ST. IGNACE, MI--   A downstate man was arraigned on drug charges last week after Michigan State Police caught him speeding on the Mackinac Bridge.

The night of March 11 troopers stopped a motorist who drove 72 miles per hour northbound on the bridge. As officers initiated the stop the driver threw a baggie out of the car’s window.

Troopers were eventually able to find the baggie, which contained six ounces of meth. The driver, a 30-year-old Muskegon man, was arrested and charged with possession with intent to deliver meth.

He remains lodged in the Mackinac County Jail.
