Houghton County man arrested for home invasion, felonious assault

CALUMET, MI--   A Calumet man was arrested after he entered a neighbor’s house and took a cat.

WLUC-TV says Wednesday around 4:15 a.m. the 52-year-old suspect allegedly broke into the victim’s house, pointed a gun at his head and demanded two cats in the home. The man left, taking one of the cats with him.

Police believe the suspect knew the homeowner.

Officers from the Laurium Police Department located and arrested the suspect for home invasion and felonious assault. He remains lodged at the Houghton County Jail.

It’s unknown if the cat has been found. The incident remains under investigation.
