Police find meth and cocaine during traffic stop in Delta County

DELTA COUNTY, MI--   Two people were taken into custody on drug charges following a traffic stop in Delta County early Wednesday morning.

Around 4:15 Sheriff’s deputies stopped a vehicle on 00.25 Road near the Big Bay de Noc school. Officers found meth, money, cocaine, prescription medication and a firearm.

A 60-year-old man from Garden and 50-year-old woman from Tennessee were arrested on charges of possession with intent to deliver meth and cocaine. They were lodged at the Delta County Jail on $100,000 bonds.

The traffic stop was the result of a joint investigation between deputies and UPSET detectives.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
