SAULT STE. MARIE, MI— Two people are lodged in the Chippewa County Jail, after detectives with TRIDENT apprehended them on drug charges.

A several-month investigation led to information that meth was being smuggled into the area and distributed to local communities.

Last Friday Chippewa County Sheriff’s deputies, working with TRIDENT, stopped a vehicle and discovered meth.

Ashley Hooper, 27, of Baldwin and Tanjiala Parlmer, 24, of Sugar Island were both arrested and charged with felony possession with intent to deliver meth and conspiracy to deliver meth.

They remain lodged in the Chippewa County Jail.
