(NEGAUNEE TOWNSHIP, MI) - One man was arrested in the dispute over an ATV in Negaunee township.
State Police from the Negaunee post were dispatched Saturday afternoon to a residence on Midway Drive for a report of a dispute between three male individuals regarding the purchase and ownership of an ATV. The dispute centered around the sale of the ATV where a person believed they owned the vehicle and went to remove the vehicle from another person’s property. That person would not allow the ATV to be removed from his property and an altercation took place. A long gun was retrieved by the owner of the residence and a shot was allegedly fired after he made threatening statements. The owner of the residence left the scene on a four-wheeler and was eventually located by law enforcement when he was taken into custody. He was lodged at the Marquette County Jail and charged with 2 counts of felonious assault. He also had 2 outstanding warrants. No injuries took place during this incident.
Troopers were assisted by deputies from the Marquette County Sheriff's Dept. and officers from Negaunee Police Dept. Names are being withheld pending arraignment.
