Tip from observant Marquette resident leads to arrest of vandal

MARQUETTE, MI— Marquette Police arrested someone spray-painting graffiti in the city, thanks to a report from a concerned citizen.

Officials say graffiti is a continuing problem in many communities throughout the area and police have been trying various methods to curb the problem.

Officers recently received a tip from a resident alerting them to a suspicious subject. The tip led to the capture and arrest of a suspect vandalizing an area using spray paint.

Officials say thanks to an observant and concerned community member who chose to Say Something when he Saw Something, the act of vandalism was stopped.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
