Names in Stanton Township homicide released

HOUGHTON COUNTY, MI— Troopers from the Calumet Post have released the names of the victim and alleged shooter in a Houghton County homicide.

Michigan State Police were dispatched Monday afternoon to a house on Quincy Street in Stanton Township on a report of a shooting. They found Ashlee Harvey, 38, dead from a gunshot wound.

Troopers arrested Isaiah Streiter, 18. He was arraigned Wednesday in 97th District Court on open murder charges.

The case remains under investigation.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
