'Substantial amount' of meth found in Stanton Township house

HOUGHTON COUNTY, MI— Two men are jailed, after Houghton County Sheriff’s deputies executed a search warrant in Stanton Township.

Officials searched the house on Superior View Road Tuesday and found a substantial amount of crystal meth.

Deputies arrested a 31-year-old man and 34-year-old man. The 31-year-old was a Michigan Department of Corrections parole absconder. He was charged with possession with intent to deliver meth. The 34-year-old man was arrested on a bond violation.

Both men are lodged in the Houghton County Jail.

The case remains under investigation and additional charges are expected.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
