Armed robbery reported in Spalding

SPALDING, MI— The Menominee County Sheriff's Office is looking for an armed robber.

Sheriff Mike Holmes says Wednesday around 8:45 p.m. a man walked into the Family Dollar store in Spalding and demanded money and cigarettes. He was dressed in all black, wore pink women’s sunglasses, carried a black, draw-string backpack, and wore gloves.

The suspect made off with the cash register money and 30 cartons of cigarettes. The majority of the cartons were Marlboro Red 100’s, Newport Reds, and Newport Menthols. He left the store on foot.

Police believe the suspect may be a detoxing drug addict.
