Police chase stolen car through three counties

IRON COUNTY, MI— A police chase wound through three Upper Peninsula counties on Wednesday.

Michigan State Police from the Iron Mountain Post say a vehicle was reported stolen from the Trojan gas station in Crystal Falls. Around 6 p.m. troopers began pursuing the vehicle. The chase began in Iron County, went through Dickinson County, and ended on M-69 East in Menominee County.

The driver, a 22-year-old Green Bay resident, lost control of the vehicle and was taken into custody. The suspect remains lodged in the Iron County Jail.

No one was injured in the incident.

Assisting in the incident were the Dickinson County Sheriff's Office, Menominee County Sheriff's Office, Delta County Sheriff's Office, Hannahville Tribal Police, and the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
