Additional arrests made in Soo narcotics case

SAULT STE. MARIE, MI— Two more suspects have been arrested in connection with a narcotics smuggling investigation in Sault Ste. Marie.

On March 13, Trident detectives apprehended three suspects after they conducted a traffic stop on I-75. More than 400 narcotics pills and other evidence was seized.

Detectives then executed a search warrant at a Soo residence and discovered meth and heroin. They arrested Amber Ward, 29, and James Franklin, 31. Both are charged with possession with intent to deliver meth and possession of heroin. Ward is also charged with 4th-degree child abuse and had another warrant out on her.

Trident continues to investigate multiple groups trafficking meth, heroin, cocaine and Fentanyl in and around the Eastern U.P.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
