Residents in Ironwood noticing unauthorized charges on credit/debit card bills

IRONWOOD, MI— The Ironwood Public Safety Department says a lot of fraudulent credit card activity has been reported in the area recently.

Officers say citizens have noticed a number of unauthorized credit and debit card charges on their bank and credit card statements.

They remind residents not to give out any personal information if you get a text or call from someone claiming to be from your bank—even if they have information about you. Hang up and call the bank at its official number. Do not call numbers detailed in text messages unless they match the official number of your banking institution.
