Niagara man arrested for various felonies, including sexual assault of a child

NIAGARA, WI— A man who was involved in a standoff with police in Niagara, Wisconsin Monday has been arrested on multiple charges, including sexual assault of a child.

WBAY-TV says police tried to arrest Joshua Otto, 43, at his home Monday evening, but he barricaded himself inside. When officers entered the house, Otto was gone.

Police arrested Otto Wednesday at an abandoned cabin near a rural town road. He’s lodged in the Marinette County Jail on charges of sexual assault of a child, child enticement, felony bail jumping, resisting/obstructing law enforcement, and felony and misdemeanor drug charges.

Officials say additional charges are pending completion of the investigation.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
