Bay Mills Cultural Center vandalized

Bay Mills Police Department

BAY MILLS, MI— The Bay Mills Indian Community is reeling, after someone trashed the tribe’s Cultural Center over the weekend.

Tribal Chair Whitney Gravelle says several individuals entered the building and vandalized it. Thousands of dollars in damage was inflicted and numerous cultural items were destroyed.

Gravelle says it’s devastating to see the community gathering place treated with such disrespect. The center will be closed for the foreseeable future.

Anyone who saw someone at or near the Cultural Center over the weekend is asked to call the Bay Mills Police Department at 906-248-3244.
