Escanaba traffic stop results in drug bust

ESCANABA, MI— A Delta County resident is jailed on narcotics trafficking charges, following a traffic stop in Escanaba.

Tuesday around 8:10 p.m., Department of Public Safety officers stopped a vehicle on the 100 block of North Lincoln Road. A search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of a large number of Fentanyl pills and cash.

A search warrant was obtained and executed on the suspect’s residence. Officers discovered a large amount of cash, suspected meth, several hand guns, and rifles.

The suspect is lodged in the Delta County jail and the case remains under investigation.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
