Human trafficking suspect faces additional charges as more victims emerge

SAULT STE. MARIE, MI— More victims have come forward in a case against a Sault Ste. Marie man accused of human trafficking and drug crimes.

Cody McCoy, 30, was charged March 1st with exchanging drugs for sex with women who have addictions. Search warrants of his residence uncovered hundreds of thousands of videos spanning several years.

The Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office says since the case was made public, multiple other victims have stepped forward. As a result, McCoy was arraigned Monday on additional charges of 1st degree criminal sexual conduct, two counts of delivery of meth, delivery of Fentanyl, and human trafficking.

He remains lodged in the Chippewa County Correctional Facility on a $250,000 bond.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
